Sunshine Blogger Award

I mentioned last week in the Versatile Blogger Award post that I received another award. It’s the Sunshine Blogger Award this time from the lovely Amanda, the author of Walk a Myelin* My Shoes. I was so honored to be given this award by Amanda and I want to thank her for it.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit Walk a Myelin* My Shoes, you most definitely check it out as it is inspirational for maintaining a healthy lifestyle in today’s busy world. The content is also relatable as we have experienced various events in our life that Amanda writes about each week.

Sunshine Blogger Rules

The four rules of receiving the Sunshine Blogger Award is simple. They are:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to the original post!
  2. Answer the 11 questions they’ve asked you.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 questions.
  4. HAVE FUN!

11 Questions To Answer

What is your earliest memory?

I remember my first hospital stay when I was only 2 years old. It was pretty scary, too. I had scarlet fever when I was two, which required me to be hospitalized for about one or two weeks. I can recall bits and pieces of visual memory as I remember having different needles, tubes, and monitors all over the unclothed parts of my body (I only could wear underwear). I also remember the fear and being scared as there were a lot of unknowns; the hospital bed, the future, the tests, the doctors, and the medical equipment protruded from my body. Although I had some of my toys and had a parent staying with me during the hospital stay, it was terrifying.

What is your most frightening memory? Not to get too intense, in honour of Halloween. 👹👺🤡👻💀🎃

See above.

What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

Hmmm, that would be singing and dancing lessons. I love singing A LOT. As much as I love music, I love to sing almost every day. I could break into a song at any point during the day. Also too, I took voice lessons for about six years; from age 15 to 21. I quit because I hated how my teachers try to force me to become a singer that they wanted, but what I didn’t want — they wanted me to be a soprano as I wanted to be an alto.

With dancing, I just want to enjoy dancing different styles. I dance Just Dance tutorial videos on Youtube every weekend and I quite enjoy them. I want to learn something new and something to keep me active and fit.

What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?

Meeting one of the favorite Japanese pop groups in the United States. I met MAX, a quartet hailing from Okinawa Prefecture, about thirteen years ago when they visited an anime convention near my parent’s house. I was lucky to meet them and have a single featuring them signed by them. This single, which was released in 1995 and entitled “TRY ME ~Watashi wo Shinjite~”, was released before MAX became MAX. It was released when the four girls were a part of another group called SUPER MONKEY’s with legendary Jpop singer Namie Amuro. Having that single signed and meeting them in the US is pretty lucky, right?

Are you usually early or late?

Late. I am NOT a morning person. I am a night owl and proud to be one (even though I work from mornings)

What pets did you have while you were growing up?

Only dogs. We had one dog named Scooby when I was in middle school. But we had to give it up when we had to move after my dad’s retirement from the US Air Force. I also had another dog, named Angel, when I was in college but she died. We didn’t keep a lot of pets due to allergies (everyone has some sort of allergy to animals) and just moving a lot due to my dad’s job.

Who inspires you to be better?

I think everyone who I have come into contact with either in real life or online has inspired me to be a better person. I know the various bloggers in the blogging community have done so with their support, their excellent blog posts, and everyone supporting each other. ❤

What was the best compliment you’ve received?

“You’re smart.”

Intelligence is vital for me. I study a lot (well, less than when I was a school student) and I know my efforts are not in vain when I pass an important test or when some recognize that I am smart. But, I don’t really like compliments because I don’t want to seem too selfish and too boastful about myself. (I like to be a private person.)

What is something that a ton of people is obsessed with, but you just don’t get the point of?

Game of Thrones. I can admit that I haven’t seen one episode or even one clip. But, I don’t get the rave about it. I love fantasy and sci-fi, but I am more into sci-fi/fantasy of the early 2000s or earlier. Someday, I will watch it and understand why people are obsessed with it.

What’s something you’ve meant to try but just haven’t gotten around to?

Hmmm, I don’t know really. I haven’t had a desire to try anything new recently. Maybe because if I want to try it, I try it right away.

What’s the best thing that happened to you last week?

I took my test FINALLY! I have been studying for a Business Japanese for like a year now. I took the test last week. I don’t think I got a good score as it was my first time taking the test (I never do well or pass on my first time taking any tests). But, I have the test booklet — they let us take it home, which is a rare thing — and can better prepare for next year’s test. 😀

 Ending This Post With…

I usually end a post off with a song. Recently, I have been obsessed with unofficial mashups of two artists that were mixed by fans. I have been listening to the “SEE U RULES” mashup of Black Pink and Dua Lipa that was mixed by Youtuber Hamtaro Gasa. I wish this was an official single as Hamtaro Gasa brilliantly mixed Black Pink’s “SEE U LATER” and Dua Lipa’s “New Rules”. You wouldn’t notice that  “SEE U RULES” was actually a mashup of two songs as it was mixed seamlessly.
